Квартира, в которой более полувека прожил Сергей Владимирович Образцов – создатель крупнейшего в мире театра кукол, по воле его наследников обрела статус мемориальной. Сегодня в этот музей приходят взрослые и дети, чтобы увидеть удивительные предметы, собранные знаменитым хозяином с начала 1930-х годов. Часть экспонатов Образцов покупал в антикварных лавках (старинную мебель и образцы дворянского рукоделия), другие привозил из путешествий (множество статуэток, народных игрушек, кукол, масок). Будучи стихийным коллекционером, он не углублялся в научную систематизацию своего собрания, но признавал художественную ценность каждой рукотворной вещи. Отдельного внимания заслуживает библиотека, насчитывающая свыше четырёх тысяч книг. В статье представлены наиболее яркие и значимые экспонаты мемориальной квартиры С.В. Образцова. О семье и круге друзей красноречиво свидетельствуют портреты, развешанные на стенах.

Sergey Obraztsov’s Cabinet of Curiosities
At the behest of Sergey Obraztsov’s heirs, his apartment where he had lived for over half a century was turned into a memorial site. Today, both adults and children come to view the many curious items collected, starting from the 1930s, by the famous owner of this apartment, the founder of the world’s largest puppet theater. Some of these he bought at antique shops (old furniture and samples of handiwork of noble families), while others were acquired during his trips (a multitude of figurines, folk toys, dolls and masks). Being a random collector, he did not occupy himself with a scientific systematization of the collection, but rather focused on the artistic value of each hand-made item. Of special interest is the library of over four thousand books. The article presents the most outstanding and significant exhibits from S.V. Obraztsov Memorial Apartment. The portraits on the walls speak about family members and friends.
